Region Championships Results, End of Season

Believe it or not, the end of the season is just around the corner... As coaches, we can't believe how quickly this season has gone!  Last night we completed the Region VIII Championships at Orem High School.  We greatly appreciate all your hard work and dedication to get us to this point in the season.  If you'd like to check out the results, they can be found HERE.

As we approach the end of the season, we'd like to make sure everyone is aware of the next week or so.  Here's our SCHEDULE:

• TUESDAY, MAY 14th--Non-Qualifiers meet @ Salem Hills High School.  This meet is for ALL ATHLETES not qualified for the State Championships.  We are hosting this meet, so please be there ready to represent!
• TUESDAY, MAY 14th--UNIFORM CHECK-IN.  Immediately following the meet Tuesday night we will have our uniform check-in.  Please have a change of clothes to change into so we can have your uniform that night.  Otherwise, you will be put on the FINE LIST on Wednesday morning.
• FRIDAY/SATURDAY, MAY 17th-18th--STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS @ BYU.  The State meet is all day both days and is a great event.  Even if you did not qualify for the State meet, we encourage you to attend the meet with us to support your teammates.  
• TUESDAY, MAY 21st--TRACK TEAM ICE CREAM SOCIAL.  This is our End of Year social for all team members and their parents.  It will be in the cafeteria at 6:30pm that evening.  We will have an Ice Cream bar and some awards!  Don't miss it!

Mountain Valley Invite Results/ Tiger Trials

After a month's postponement, we finally got to compete in the Mountain Valley Invitational at Mountain View High School.  Wahoo!  It was a bit windy and cold, but Hey! we're used to it by now, right?   We had some great performances from several different athletes and a lot of improvements on Personal Bests.  Great work!   The results can be found HERE.

This weekend we will be traveling to Orem HS for the Tiger Trials.  The bus will leave at 7:00 am.  The meet will start at 8:30 and will go throughout the day.  The weather is forecast to be in the upper 60's, so it should be a great day for a track meet!

I just wanted to quickly throw the results from our last few meets online here for you to look over.  So, here they are:

• Dismiss at 1:45 pm, Bus leaves at 2:00 pm
• Saturday, April 27th--Tiger Trials @ OREM HS
• Bus leaves at 7:00 am
• Fri/Sat, May 3rd-4th--BYU Invitational @ BYU
• Wed/Thur, May 8th-9th--Region VIII Championships @ OREM HS
• Fri/Sat, May 16th-17th--State Championships @ BYU

Mid-Season Post

Hopefully you've had a great Spring Break and have found opportunities to workout if you haven't been with us for practice this last week...  We are now into the "MEATY" part of the season where we are hoping to see some big improvements and get a bunch of you qualified for State!

This week, we have two meets--and BOTH are changes from our original schedule.

• Tuesday, April 9th--Meet @ Payson HS.  Meet starts at 3:30 and is a 4- or 5-way meet.  This meet has unlimited entries, so everyone can participate.  
• Friday, April 12th--Juab Invitational @ Juab HS.  This is a State Qualifying meet that starts at 1:00 pm and runs through the evening.  This meet has limited entries, so not everyone will be invited for this one.

*These times are handheld.  As a result, there are some inconsistencies... Generally hand-held times are about .24-.50 seconds FASTER than F.A.T. (Fully-Automated Timing) Times.  The times from 3/26/13 are especially inaccurate...
