Week Two Results

This past week the Salem Hills Track & Field teams competed in two meets that saw many personal best races/throws/jumps. Nice work to each and every one of you athletes! Keep working hard and setting new PR's each week, and we will be successful!

Tuesday's meet we traveled down the road to compete against Springville and Spanish Fork at SFHS. The weather was quite nice, and we performed very well. The girl's team took 2nd behind Springville's girls, while our guys pulled out a hard fought victory by only two points over Springville. Congratulations to both boys' and girls' teams! Our Team results can be found HERE.

Saturday (March 20) we traveled to Timpanogos High for the UHSTCA Invitational where we saw many great performances from many of our athletes. Our team results are HERE.

This coming week we will have a "FACEOFF" challenge on Tuesday at practice, then will travel to the Mt. Timpanogos Invitational at TIMPVIEW High on Thursday and Friday afternoons. We look forward to continuing our progress as a team! Go SKYHAWKS!

Payson, Uintah, Maple Mtn @ Salem Hills Results

Tuesday, March 9th we officially kicked off the 2010 Track and Field season with a 4-way meet at Skyhawk Stadium. The weather wasn't exactly ideal for a track meet, but we ran it none-the-less. We had numerous excellent performances, and it appears we have picked up where we left off at the end of last year. The complete results can be found HERE.

In the team standings, both teams finished in 2nd place behind Maple Mtn. On the men's side, the scores were: MMHS 124, Salem Hills 84, Uintah 24 and Payson 17. On the women's side the scores were: MMHS 112, Salem Hills 81, Payson 32 and Uintah 21. We as a coaching staff are excited about where we are right now, and look forward to improvement throughout the season. We are still looking for additional athletes to join our ranks, so if you know of anyone interested in being a part of us, tell them to come see us!

Our next meet will be on Tuesday, March 16th at Spanish Fork High against Spanish Fork and Springville. The bus will leave school at 2:35, so be ready to pull out at that time.

2010 Track Season Begins

Attention all athletes!!!! It's time to start our Indoor Track & Field season! We will start practice on MONDAY, DECEMBER 7TH at 3:00 pm. Practices will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week. We want EVERYONE there!

Track & Field is for anyone and everyone. It is a unique sport in that we need all types of athletes, abilities and body types. There are 17 different events in Track & Field, and only half are running events--there's jumping events, throwing events, hurdles and relays, not to mention all the sprinting and distance events. If you enjoy competition, we have a spot for you on our team!

Indoor Track runs through the winter months (December through February), with four meets we will attend. It's a great way to get ready for spring sports--whether that's track, soccer, softball, baseball, etc. We have a great time and work hard.
